Leather welding blankets are made from side split cowhide leather, a material taken from the back and side portion of the animal. Often used in welding gloves, aprons, and jackets, split cowhide leather provides the most dense, consistent, and durable material. Because of its naturally fire resistant properties, leather protects against sparks and splatter.
