Ballistic nylon was originally invented as a protective material for soldiers against impact during World War II. Ballistic nylon fabric is a non-textured, smooth, high denier fabric and has high wear and tear strength.
Ballistic nylon fabric material is used in luggage, body armor, and industrial bags, covers and drapes.
Common ballistic nylon yarn are 1050 Denier Nylon, 1680 Denier Nylon, and 840 Denier Nylon (Jr. Ballistic).

A good heavy duty tarp that is similar to old canvas tarps from the 70s. Stitching appears to be good quality and the reinforced seams and eyelets are holding up well.
