Product Overview

Plain grommet setting dies and grommet hole cutters should be used with an rawhide hammer or wooden mallet, or rubber mallet, not with a steel hammer. Designed for plain grommets and washers. Sizes 00 thru 5 are CNC machined from high grade tool steel, while sizes 6 & up are a malleable iron casting. Properly machined and hardened. The finest industrial grommet dies made.

MANUFACTURER DIRECTIONS

When inserting grommets with this tool, the most satisfactory results can be obtained if the following instructions are followed:

1. USE STANDARD GROMMETS.
2. BEST RESULTS CAN BE OBTAINED BY USING A WOODEN OR RAWHIDE MALLET. DO NOT USE A STEEL HAMMER.
3. USE PROPER SIZE PUNCH FOR THE ROUND HOLE BEFORE INSERTING.
4. TAP TOP HALF OF SETTING DIE LIGHTLY AT FIRST, INCREASING STRENGTH OF BLOW UNTIL GROMMET IS SET.
5. DO NOT ATTEMPT TO SET GROMMET WITH ONE BLOW.

Warnings

WARNING: Compatible with US Stimpson style plain grommets with plain washers only. Not compatible with Spur Grommets or Rolled Rim Grommets with Spur Washers.
WARNING: Not recommended for stainless steel grommets. Please use high carbon steel Grommet Setting Die for Stainless Steel Grommets.
