- A steel tarp is flatbed trailer tarp in rectangle or square shape. Steel tarps are designed to cover steel coils and machinery. Steel tarps usually have D-rings on all 4 sides.
Q: What is the difference between a steel tarp and a lumber tarp?
- The main difference is a lumber tarp has a separate tail end piece. For example, the 8 ft lumber tarp has a size of 27' x 24' and an additional 8' x 8' tail piece on one end. Steel tarp does not have the additional tail piece. Another difference is steel tarps have D-rings on all 4-sides, which a lumber tarp usually have D-rings on 3-sides.

A good heavy duty tarp that is similar to old canvas tarps from the 70s. Stitching appears to be good quality and the reinforced seams and eyelets are holding up well.
